Why would we even attempt at holding such a large, long, blitz tournament? Well for starters, it will allow many of our players to play blitz all day long for rating points. Two, we hope to attract lots of new people to the chess club and tournament for holding such an extreme event. The benefits of holding this tournamnet go beyond advertising for our club and can promote chess as a real sport as well to anyone who wants to learn how to play. And last, we hope to sign up lots of new players at this tournament and so that we can increase not only the local membership numbers but the National USCF (United States Chess Federation) membership count.

This idea of a larger chess tournament is keeping with the LVCA creedo of "Promoting Chess In The Lehigh Valley and Beyond".
